Hey everybody! Joe ordered new plastic shuttles for practice! Enjoy playing with our reserve of feather shuttles while you can. Z says that we should be okay if we use one tube per practice, so play carefully.
It's not uncommon to see shuttles getting replaced after every 2 or 3 points at professional badminton matches. Surely these birdies, while not 100% intact, are still in very fine condition. What do they do with these shuttles? Is there a black market for shuttles that have been ruthlessly pummelled by world-class badminton players?

Now, for the purposes of this post, let us suppose that each shuttle lasts a single game. In this game, the score will be 21-15. That is a total of 36 rallies. So, each rally costs $0.055.
Let us assume that each rally consists of an average of 8 hits. Therefore, every time you swing your racquet, you are costing the club $0.00693.
Correct. 7/10ths of a penny. Just like that.
